Invited Lecture at the 77th Annual Meeting of the Vitamin Society of Japan

On June 28–29, 2025, the 77th Annual Meeting of the Vitamin Society of Japan was held at Kitasato University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Shirogane Campus (Ōmura Memorial Hall).
The conference theme was:
“Wisdom and Practice in Vitamin and Biofactor Science.”
This meeting served as a vibrant platform for sharing the latest insights in vitamin and biofactor research, covering a broad spectrum from basic science to clinical applications.
Dr. Takeda Represented Our Lab as an Invited Speaker!
Our laboratory was represented by Dr. Kazuki Takeda, who delivered a Young Investigator Special Lecture (No. 5) titled:
“Deciphering Drug Sensitivity, Species Differences, and Individual Variability in Vitamin K Cycle-Related Proteins through Structural Science.”
In this talk, Dr. Takeda presented:
Structural analysis of proteins involved in the vitamin K cycle
Molecular interaction studies of warfarin (a drug and rodenticide) with vitamin K epoxide reductase
Latest structural science approaches to understanding species and individual differences in warfarin sensitivity
Particular attention was given to the use of AlphaFold2-based structure prediction, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations, which sparked active discussion and numerous questions from the audience.
Believe it or not, this was Dr. Takeda’s first-ever visit to the Shirokane Campus since joining Kitasato University four and a half years ago!
